Netflix announced today that Grace and Frankie has been picked up for a seventh and final season. The news comes four months ahead of the veteran comedy's Season 6 release, which is slated for sometime in January.
The streaming service has ordered an expanded 16 episodes for the critically-acclaimed series' final run - up from its typical 13. All told, its 94 total episodes will see the show go out as the longest-running Netflix original series.
"It's thrilling and somehow fitting, that our show about the challenges, as well as the beauty and dignity of aging, will be the oldest show on Netflix," said co-creators Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris.
Grace and Frankie stars Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda star as divorcees brought together after their husbands fall in love with each other. The roles are the pair's first together since 1980's comedy 9 to 5.

Thank you Jane, thank you Lily, thank you Sam and Martin. I enjoyed and always looked forward to new seasons. When I am Jane’s age I can only hope I can pick my leg up and put my foot in a sink. Not to mention going through a doggy door. Will miss the gang.

Not sure what is with all the hate with everyone but my comments are that the last season wasn't that great but I have enjoyed the show through the years but I understand after watching last season that it is time to end.

Netflux canncelled my show with only 94 episodes. They didn't give it a chance. I ma gonna not watch them agian. They gonna put on reality show or dating show. Me no like them. I don't care if the writers were runneng out of ideas. I don't care if it was getting stale. I like you keep. You only gave it 2 seasons to wrap up a story. that no enough.

7 seasons is great....Fun and good times watching this show but I think it has run it's course. Well done to all the cast. Let the stars move on to other projects.

Did I miss the word "cancelled" in the story? 7 seasons is incredible, we will miss it, but maybe the actors and/or producers just felt it was time.
