Amazon announced today that Bosch has been picked up for a seventh and final season. The news comes well ahead of the detective drama's sixth season, which should arrive this spring but has yet to set a premiere date.

The veteran series has had a long and successful run for the online giant's streaming service, ranking as one of its longest-running and best-received originals.

Based on Michael Connelly's best-selling series of books, the show follows Harry Bosch, a police detective who is navigating tough situations in both his personal and professional life after being implicated in the killing of a serial murder suspect.

With Season 6 premiering this year, the seventh and final season of Bosch is on track for 2021.
