No Season 2 for the crime drama.
April 3, 2020
Word is out this evening that Fox has cancelled Deputy after just one season. The sad news comes eight days after the western crime procedural wrapped its 13-episode freshman run, which ended up ranking as one of the network's lowest-rated dramas of the season.
The series starred Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman in Los Angeles, who is thrust into the Sheriff's job after the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department loses its elected Sheriff. While not exactly the job he wanted due to the politics involved, he soon learns that following his instincts to pursue justice at all costs is only skill required to get the job done.

GOOD show. damn. But bashing comic book shows is just lame. I love them. They have drama and good fun in them. but this had potential instead of the illegal aliens storylines. how about how many of them are committing crimes, for once? We get the bad with the good and in Los angelos that meant many gang thugs hidden with the many good illegals.

Well that sucks! This is a far better show than the parade of intelligence numbing parade of DC and other comic book based shows that are currently running on that other channel.
Frankly, the way the networks all have new shows premiering at random times all year long and no standard season like we used to have when all we had was the "big 3 networks" really seems to screw a lot of worthwhile shows from making it......
Then again, the idiots at FOX are the ones that cancelled Firefly after 11 episodes.

Whenever they hype the heck out of new show for a month prior to the debut in inevitable crashes and burns. This show was no exception. It was unwatchable. The ratings agreed.

Really like this show. Take charge guy takes over w a solid team. Why can't networks give shows a chance to be found?

The trailer alone was enough for me. Never thought about watching it.

Gayle...I like Prodigal Son. They need to do away with some of their so called comedies that aren’t funny.

I watched the first show and bailed. Couldn't stands to overt liberal life lessons. Entertain - not lecture.

Of all the new shows this year, I was *really* enjoying this show once I started overlooking all the obligatory Californian political correctness and liberal tendencies. The obligatory trans character (I actually like the actress, just not the character), the "defend illegal immigrants" stance..
It's like all new shows must check off every Hollywood left-wing box from a list in order to get a first season and I really, really hate that, but that's just how it is these days...
