No Season 2 for the crime drama.
April 3, 2020
Word is out this evening that Fox has cancelled Deputy after just one season. The sad news comes eight days after the western crime procedural wrapped its 13-episode freshman run, which ended up ranking as one of the network's lowest-rated dramas of the season.
The series starred Stephen Dorff as Bill Hollister, a fifth-generation lawman in Los Angeles, who is thrust into the Sheriff's job after the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department loses its elected Sheriff. While not exactly the job he wanted due to the politics involved, he soon learns that following his instincts to pursue justice at all costs is only skill required to get the job done.

I think it is a absolute travesty set the TV industry doesn't give new shows ample opportunity to Blossom or for people to catch on, deputy is a great show Fox executive didn't give it a chance or whoever calls the shots in fact you guys should simply running again why everyone is at home do to covid-19 see how the ratings are you have nothing to lose everything to gain which is a great TV program excellent show just a suggestion no I'm not sure if these comments goes to the fox Executives or the writer of the show if it does go to the writers of the show I simply say this the show was too good to be canceled and if Fox won't are the shopping with another Network I guarantee another network will pick it up and run with it it is very good it would be Fox's lost

Why,why do u networks cancel shows that's absolutely entertaining?the concept of this show was different, unique, intriguing. Thursday night became entertaining again. This rating thing is a bunch of BS this show caught my attention from the previews couldn't wait till it came on and from there own my and i was hooked, each episode was captivating! Please rethink this decision, you got time, if fox isn't no longer available then shop around for other network's please, please do something other than this, i had to tell a friend this sad info, she couldn't wait till thursday night broke her heart,Ms.Ruby is in her 80's she couldn't believe this, what was wrong with you people's can't believe this, you're really going to deprive us from watching the best concept of a show since walker texas ranger, and the deputy was really better written.i don't know what else to say, i know this comment is falling on death ears.the way the network does shows now is all screwed up
Start giving shows a chance, ratings a bunch of malarkey.

What ridiculous whining. "Why couldn't they let a show be found??" It was on for a FULL SEASON. People of this attitude would likely make the same complaint when "Gunsmoke" was cancelled after 20 years. "Why get invested in a TV show if they just cancel them??" TV shows have been cancelled or ended for as long as TV has existed. It ain't a new practice to make your life sad. I guess if you can't deal with it, TV isn't for you.

I noticed something (even if not unusual) so I scanned through the comments in this this much longer than usual thread and indeed the large majority either loved it or hated it. I’ve never figured out what that means, other than it contrasts with shows either most people will like, or most will not like. I chose not to try it based on what I read about it before it even aired. There was one comment from that patronizer clown that chimes in cancellations that draw protests to tell everybody that the show got a fair chance and there was no choice but to cancel it. Everyone complaining is dumb. Most complainers probably don’t pay attention to ratings or ignore them when letting off steam. I like that - in large part because shows are often renewed or cancelled despite ratings, or decisions are not made entirely on ratings. Ratings are often only one factor. That said, the above announcement says this show was one of Fox’s lowest rated dramas of the season. I can’t be sure what that means because the rating numbers aren’t given nor do I know how many shows were classified as dramas. I often don’t spend time trying to figure it out or follow the numbers - I just complain because I know, often, it ain’t so damn fair. No opinion on this show, just observing the follies.

Why bother watching a show and getting to like it when it is just going to get cancelled. I don't know who makes these decisions but they need serious mental help. I really enjoyed the show, Hollister may not have been political correct but he had the guts to do what was right. If you had a brain you would bring it back.

I really hate that this show was cancelled!!!! My husband & I enjoyed watching it. We are to the point of going to strictly movies because there is no reason to watch tv or get used to shows, because they never stay around long enough. You start getting used to them and enjoying them , escaping whatever problems you may be having going on and poof they are gone, cancelled by rich suits that wouldn't know a good show if it came up and bit them on the butt!!!!!!!!

You are not tired of canceling the good shows and keeping all the absurdity of reality TV?
