The horror series won't be back for Season 3.

It is being reported that USA Network has cancelled The Purge after two seasons on the air. The sad news comes five months after the horror drama's sophomore run wrapped.
The hour-long series had a strong debut in 2018, becoming the cable network's top drama at the time. While reviews were mixed, ratings were solid enough to warrant a second season. Viewers tuned out when it returned last fall, though, where it averaged only half of what it did in Season 1.
Based on the movie franchise of the same name, The Purge is set in an alternate version of America, where a totalitarian political party is in power. During a 12-hour period when all crime is legal, even murder, various seemingly-unrelated, conflicted residents of a small city go to great lengths to survive the night as the clock winds down.

I feel guilty for this cancellation. I have the entirety of season 2 still on my DVR but had yet to watch it.

Mike dobey there is one that is supposed to me coming out July 20th of this year which I'm sure has gotten pushed back as I haven't seen any trailer or promotion for it. The creator of the series says he plans on that being the last film in the series.

Just what the world needs, another show with gratuitous violence, people killing each other with immunity and impunity. Almost as bad as Quentin Tarantino garbage.

Too bad. Sorry to see it go. I think we haven’t seen the end of a Purge series. Even if it takes a couple years it will show up again on another network or streaming service.

Interesting show. Season 2 was a lot better than Season 1. Please let one of the streaming sites pick this up.

It was less bloody than the movies. I am not sure the movie series is done as well. But this was an ok niche show each seadon was stand alone. So you can watch all 20 eps and not have a cliffhanger.I support all horror shows mostly so rip to this one.
