The comedy will return to Fox in 2020-2021.
May 19, 2020
Fox announced today that Last Man Standing has been picked up for a ninth season. The good news comes three weeks after the comedy wrapped Season 8, which was cut slightly short due to the coronavirus pandemic shutdown.
The renewal is its second at Fox. The Tim Allen series aired for six seasons at its original home on ABC before being cancelled in 2017. Since its revival, Last Man Standing has been garnering healthy ratings, currently ranking as one of Fox's most-watched and top-rated comedies.
Last Man Standing follows Mike Baxter, a man's man who works as a marketing director for a sporting goods store. But while he may be the king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out at his female-dominated household.
Look for Season 9 of Last Man Standing in the mid-season of 2020-2021.

Makes me happy. Im not a fan of the sitcom, but i like this one and Young Sheldon because the humor is so ground-in and doesnt rely solely on puns and turd/sex jokes. I look forward to watching it after the apocalypse!

Thank you Fox! It’s the only comedy on Fox that’s worth a hoot.

Uh, John---Tim Allen is a pretty vocal libertarian and makes several jokes about Obama in early episodes. I think you posted on the wrong news items.

I thought this was a show about a conservative guy. Hence the title because he is one of the few left? but only really low iq people think the repub party is a good one right? Actually I like the show and just felt that political statements are really good on here right john? . Not a lib either but...
