The Goldbergs spin-off ends after two seasons.
May 21, 2020
ABC has cancelled Schooled after its second season. The network announced its pickups for 2020-2021 today, and while parent show The Goldbergs made the cut, Schooled did not. The sad news comes a week after the comedy wrapped its sophomore run.
The half-hour sitcom began as a pilot that originally aired as a regular episode of The Goldbergs back in January 2018. At the time, the network had passed on the show, which was developed as a 90s-set spin-off. Sometime after that they had a change of heart, and Schooled was added to their mid-season schedule. While the show was a decent performer, it experienced numerous showrunner changes over the course of its run.
Set in 1990-something, Schooled follows the faculty at William Penn Academy – Principal Glascott, Coach Mellor, new music teacher and graduate Lainey Lewis, and enthusiastic super-teacher Charlie Brown. They may be nothing alike, both at school and in their personal lives, but this group of teachers are all great mentors to their students in their own unique ways.

I really liked this show it was not all sex jokes, woke & no political agenda. Best of all it was funny. The supporting cast made the show. Though not a home run it was solid. Sad to see it go thought season 3 could have been something.

The show ran thin on story line. Watched for a while but lost interest. Maybe with better writers it could have made it but when better shows are also getting axed there was little chance this show would make it. Hopefully the cast can find better roles.

I wonder if Chris is going to be nice to Bryan or just make fun of him about his show being cancelled.

It was OK, though the show was uneven. The changes in showrunners makes sense. The focus of the series over time moved away from Lainey and became more of an ensemble.
At least it ended with a satisfying conclusion. Maybe they knew it was on the bubble?

Awwww. Too bad. I enjo this show so much. And Coach Mellor is the best character on the show. He’s incredibly hilarious. Thankfully we can probably still see his character on The Goldbergs. Tim Meadows is fantastic as well. Sorry it’s cancelled.
