The musical dramedy will return for Season 2.
June 11, 2020
NBC announced today that Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes a month following the music dramedy's freshman run.
The series premiered as a mid-season entry earlier this year and won its share of fans who appreciated its quirky musical format. Critics took to the series as well, giving it mostly-positive feedback. Today's renewal makes Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist the only new show on the network to be returning next year.
The series follows a tech worker in San Francisco who experiences an unusual event that allows her to hear people's innermost thoughts and desires through songs. This initially makes her question her own sanity, but pretty soon she realizes that this unwanted ability may just be a wonderful gift.
Look for Season 2 of Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist in 2021.

@MoeB - I think you need to check your stereotypes at the door. As a gay man, I don't enjoy this show. Love musicals, but not this show. Just let people like or not like what they want! Don't stereotype!

@michael Then the authorities should either check your hard drives or your basement. If no basement then back yard.
And what the hell is a snf?

I didn't watch this because I thought it would be cancelled. Oops...

This is great news. I love this show and was worried it would be cancelled as the ratings didn’t seem that great. Looking forward to season 2.

Super excited this show got renewed. Like someone said, I hope they have another storyline in mind seeing how it ended. Can't wait to see what they come up with.

@Keith Allen You may need a dictionary because I don't think you know what the term sexist means. Or maybe you're gay. Which is 100% fine. But the reality is that the only people that would really enjoy this show is women, children or gay men. And to be honest there's nothing wrong with that.
And you can comment what you want, but in reality you know it's true. By the way when did you come out?

I'm glad it's coming back, but it wrapped things up nicely at the end of season 1. I actually thought it was planned as a limited series. They'll have to come up with a different story line going forward.

I LOVE this show. I just LOVE Zoey! And the ability to understand the words to all songs, I’m appreciating them even more, too... so GLAD we get more, but 2021? Start this fall!!
