BET announced today that Twenties has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes two and a half months after the comedy wrapped its freshman outing, which performed well for the cable network over its eight-episode run.
The half-hour series premiered in March and was met with a generally positive critical reception. Viewership was also healthy, with its ratings among African-Americans aged 18-49 putting in the top spot among new cable comedies.
Twenties follows down-on-her-luck screenwriter Hattie, who is working on finding her voice as a writer while she looks to meet the right girl. Her best friends Marie and Nia are also trying to make their own dreams come true in L.A. While they each live separate lives, the girls all lean on each other for support and guidance as they navigate their twenties.
Look for Season 2 to premiere sometime in 2021.
