USA Network has cancelled Briarpatch after one season. Creator Andy Greenwalk took to Twitter to break the sad news to his followers, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew. He also confirmed that he has signed a new deal with the studio and is looking forward to revealing his next project.
Based on Ross Thomas' novel of the same name, Briarpatch told the story of a tenacious investigator who returns to her Texas hometown after the murder of her sister. But what starts out as a search for a killer sees her become engulfed in an all-consuming battle to bring her corrupt hometown to justice.

Sounds interesting, is it on Netflix?

I liked this show very much, but I also think the story is over. Besides Rosario Dawson is going to be in a star wars show on Disney.

....Or you can just move on. Shows done. What's next?

Bill S, yes, it was originally a mini series. But if the ratings were there it would have continued. The Sinner was also a mini series, but had good enough ratings and is now coming back for season 4. There's a lot more they could do with this show.

There was nothing to cancel. It was billed from the beginning as a 10 part story. In other words a mini-series. The story line was completed. There was no where to go with another season. I wish more studios would do these. No cliffhangers to get you to come back next year only to find out the series gets canceled.

Chris, what are you talking about? As the creator said, "though I've known for months" And so did I because another site said it was canceled. I knew it just before the last episode aired and was pissed. This site is slow with some of the cancellations. I've seen others canceled elsewhere before here too. Sorry..

I agree with one of the comments that it was a good show but it seemed like a limited thing

J NAPES what are you talking about? The creator of the show literally tweeted 2 days ago saying he wanted us to hear from him FIRST that the show was canceled. How do you think everyone already knew this months ago?
