USA Network has cancelled Briarpatch after one season. Creator Andy Greenwalk took to Twitter to break the sad news to his followers, expressing gratitude to the cast and crew. He also confirmed that he has signed a new deal with the studio and is looking forward to revealing his next project.
Based on Ross Thomas' novel of the same name, Briarpatch told the story of a tenacious investigator who returns to her Texas hometown after the murder of her sister. But what starts out as a search for a killer sees her become engulfed in an all-consuming battle to bring her corrupt hometown to justice.

Loved the show, but it seemed like a one-off, a limited series. Completed the main story line.

Took a couple of episodes to get me. Thought it was pretty good. But this was already known to be canceled months ago. This site is a bit slow with the info.
