The improv comedy will return to Quibi in 2021.
September 3, 2020
Quibi announced today that Reno 911! has been picked up for an eighth season - its second on the mobile streaming service. The good news comes four months after the improv comedy made its return TV. It had been over 10 years since the show was cancelled by its original network, Comedy Central.
Shot in a mockumentary-style, Reno 911!'s cast of comic actors portray the police officers that you would normally see on shows such as COPS. The show places much emphasis on improvisation, using only a broad outline with a minimal script.
Look for Season 8 of Reno 911! in 2021.

Okay.. maybe a full 24 eps (7min cuts) for S08. I saw that S07 appeared to be done, but it seems like it was just a very long hiatus after ep 12.

I am more surprised to learn that Quibi will be back in 2021.

So has anybody seen the new Reno 911 and does it compare with 911 of yore? Do they wear faceshields?

No I think it will be a full season... the second half of S7 just came out like a week ago. Pretty sure a full S8 will be coming next year.

Seems it's not REALLY a season 7 and 8... it's the same season just split in two.... they filmed an hour and a half and then chopped it up into 24 - 7min clips (seriously 7 min clips... How is Quibi even a thing?) .. so they air the first 12 as season 7.. then the remaining as season 8.
