No Season 2 for the family comedy.
September 15, 2020
It is being reported that ABC has cancelled United We Fall after just one season. The sad news comes two weeks following the comedy's eight-episode freshman run, which came to an end on August 26.
The move does not come as a total surprise, as the show ultimately garnered average reviews and so-so ratings. Originally slated to air as a mid-season entry last spring, the half-hour series ended up being put on the backburner for a burn off during the summer months.
United We Fall series follows Jo and Bill, the parents of two young children who are trying to get through each day as a functioning family. Bill's judgmental live-in mother and Jo's large Latinx Catholic family are constantly critical of them, but Bill and Jo always have each other's backs, united against everyone - other parents, teachers, coaches, co-workers - and especially their kids.

"Yeah they never gave this show a chance. They cancelled it before it's 25th season." Let's not be trolls we know they gave this show 8 episodes and 8 is enough. It officially had a chance. It was not liked. If you want to know why it got cancelled read the reviews or comments about it.

I hope this means that Will Sassco will return a recurring role on Mom.

It was great seeing Jane Curtain again and to see she still has her comedic edge. But, the show really brought nothing we haven't seen many times before. I would have preferred that they would have kept Man With a Plan a couple more years than to have tried to build this show.

Who exactly is "You People"? Only asking because every comment on here say nothing about people not understanding why it got cancelled. You called people out as if they're commenting "Why?" or "This don't make sense" or "How dare you cancel"..

Yeah, this was a cute show, but it probably would've done better in syndication. Too bad, I liked the cast.

The played-out premise of "incompetent" parents questioning their every decision. Relatives who were much more irritating than funny. Child actors that were more cute than talented. And not a single original idea. I'm not surprised it was canceled. I'm surprised it got this far.

This is not a shocker. The first episode was horrible. The premise was horrible. Again you people don't get it. The fact this show was even greenlit means they gave they show a chance. I don't think you people realize exactly how many shows make pilots that don't even air. And I like Will. Not familiar with the woman but. Will can make some good stuff. He's great in the show Loudermilk.
