The veteran comedy will say good-bye in 2021.
October 14, 2020
It was announced today that Last Man Standing will be coming to an end on Fox after its upcoming ninth season. The long-running comedy received its last pickup in May, though there was no hint at the time that it would be its final season.
The Tim Allen series has had quite a successful run. Premiering in 2011, the half-hour show aired for six seasons at its original home on ABC before being cancelled in 2017. Since its revival on Fox, Last Man Standing has performed well at its new home, garnering healthy ratings and often ranking as one of the network's most-watched and top-rated comedies. The show leaves Fox as its only returning live-action comedy, as its recent comedic focus has been on animated fare.
Last Man Standing follows Mike Baxter, a man's man who works as a marketing director for a sporting goods store. But while he may be the king of the hill at work, he's the odd man out at his female-dominated household.
Look for Season 9 of Last Man Standing to premiere in January 2021.

Let’s just all go to war and who’s left standing gets the spoils. There’s no healing this country too much hate all the way around. But I did like the show

SAD NEWS !! Still enjoyed this show, even though I missed the original Mandy, would have liked to see more Eve, and didn't care for the exchange student storyline !! Tim Allen and Nancy Travis are AWESOME !! As well as Hector Elizondo !!

@Many, Maybe stinking libs should strive to raise themselves to the level of Conservatives. Libs take the high road? LMAO. I think YOU'RE played out. This show is garbage, a term with which you are inexorably and intimately familiar. At least you get your intimacy somewhere.

Although the only controversy about this show was that Tim Allen was a 2016 Trump supporter, that was not the reason for it cancellation after season 6. Frankly, the cast was too expensive as all shows on that long are. FOX found ways to cut corners without destroying the show dynamic and the show continued well. I never missed an episode and enjoyed the sparring between Mike and . . . Well, everyone.
I enjoyed how Mike knew to put politics aside as family was his first priority. Frankly, the only thing killing the show now is the fact that it is reaching a natural conclusion. Kids are all grown and having families, Vanessa and Mike have found their empty nest lifestyles and once you get there . . . How many more stories can you tell?

Oh please Raylan125 Liberals don't have to lower ourselves to all of the conservatives levels, we have had many many years of taking the high road, and we can watch tv shows and separate our feelings from a fictional show. Maybe it is just played out.

Even though I'm not American, and definitely can't stand Trump I would say that most of us liberals can separate a tv show from the harsh reality. I very much enjoyed Last man standing and am sad to see it end. But maybe another network can pick it up again, you never know. They did it once...

If he spent 8 seasons pushing liberal ideas and calling President Trump a doody head, it'd be on for years, like law and order
