No Season 2 for the sci-fi drama.
October 28, 2020
It is being reported that Peacock has cancelled Brave New World after just one season. The sad news comes three months after the sci-fi drama released its freshman run.
The hour-long series debuted on July 15 alongside the nationwide launch of the streaming service. Its nine first-season episodes ultimately garnered mixed reviews from both audiences and critics.
The show takes place in a utopian society, where peace and stability have been achieved through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and even history. New London residents Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne take a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become entangled in a violent rebellion. The two are rescued by John the Savage, who escapes with them back to New London. But John's arrival in the New World threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to deal with the repercussions.

"The show takes place in a (liberal) utopian society, where peace and stability have been achieved through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and even history."
No wonder it failed. It's an unsustainable liberal fantasy.

@mic Promotion isn’t everything, but since Peacock is still so new, I think NBC counts on “stumble upon” viewings. I don’t understand exactly how streaming services measure the success of their content, but I’m sure cost has a lot to do with what stays or goes, which isn’t exactly contingent on success or failure

Shocker. It was a poor Westworld clone.

“Cancelled by Peacock” sounds humiliating.

It would have done better on NBC instead of behind the Peacock paywall. By the time they released it for free no one was interested.

Too bad, I really enjoyed this show. I knew nothing about Brave New World on Peacock. I was a stumble upon, when I downloaded the TV app. Perhaps that was the problem? No promotion.
