NBC announced today that Weakest Link has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes as the game show winds down its freshman run, which will conclude next week.

A revival of the 2001 original, which also aired on NBC as an adaptation of the British series of the same name, the new iteration of Weakest Link premiered in the Fall and fared well for the network on Monday nights. The show averaged a 1.2 rating among adults 18-49 and was the second most-watched new alternative series of the season.

Episodes are hosted by Jane Lynch and feature eight strangers working together answering trivia questions in an attempt to bank the highest amount of prize money. After each round they collectively vote to eliminate the one they deem to be the weakest link until only two remain. They then go head-to-head in one final round and the winner takes home the prize money.
