NBC announced today that Weakest Link has been picked up for a third season. The good news follows a solid summer run that improved the network's Monday 10:00pm time slot performance by 30% in the 18-49 demographic and 26% in total viewership.

A revival of the 2001 original, which also aired on NBC as an adaptation of the British series of the same name, the new iteration of Weakest Link is hosted by Jane Lynch, with each episode featuring eight strangers working together answering trivia questions in an attempt to bank the highest amount of prize money. After each round they collectively vote to eliminate the one they deem to be the weakest link until only two remain. They then go head-to-head in one final round and the winner takes home the prize money.

NBC has increased the episode count for Season 3, ordering 20 episodes this time instead of the 13 it aired in Seasons 1 and 2. Look for a return during the 2022-2023 TV season.
