Netflix announced today that On My Block has been picked up for a fourth and final season. The news comes nearly a year after the coming-of-age dramedy released Season 3. A short video announcing the renewal was posted on the show's social media accounts.

Created by Lauren Iungerich, who also gave us MTV's now-concluded Awkward, On My Block follows four streetwise teens beginning high school in a tough South Central Los Angeles neighborhood. As they gear up for this next chapter of their lives, these lifelong friends need to have to have each others' backs as they face adversities such as the constant threat of gang violence.

The series has been praised for its solid acting performances and storylines that deal with real and timely issues affecting today's inner-city youth. While Season 3 had a shortened episode count of 8, the final season will reportedly be back up to 10, matching the length of Seasons 1 and 2.
