There is good news to report for fans of Sanditon this morning. Masterpiece on PBS has announced that it has picked up the British drama for Seasons 2 and 3, saving it from cancellation by its original network ITV in the UK.
The 2019 series was brought stateside last year, where it has garnered high acclaim from critics and audiences alike. After leaving viewers in suspense after its freshman finale, the show will return to the titular picturesque resort to continue Charlotte's journey and also follow new and compelling stories of intrigue.
"We are absolutely delighted to announce a second and third season of Sanditon, a show that has inspired such a passionate and devoted fan base," Masterpiece executive producer Susanne Simpson said in a statement. "Audiences can expect romance, humor and plenty of twists and turns in these new seasons of Sanditon."
Based on Jane Austen's final, unfinished novel, the series follows young heroine Charlotte Heywood, who is brought to the seaside town of Sanditon by a chance accident during Regency era. Spirited and naive, Charlotte hopes to experience everything Sanditon has to offer, but is surprised by its scheming and ambitious residents, and intrigued by the secrets they keep.

Hooray! Loved the first season, the finale was unacceptable, even though the novel was left unfinished, I can't wait to see how well the writers fit in Austin's shoes.

Ummm basing a show on a unfinished book might not bee the best idea.
I am guessing that the show is going to end on a cliffhanger.

Good stuff. This show seemed too popular to get cancelled. At least in the states. Not sure how it was received overseas.
