No Season 2 for the sci-fi drama.
May 27, 2021
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Debris after just one season. The sad news comes three days after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 13-episode freshman run. The move isn't a complete surprise though, as the show struggled to find a sizeable audience despite generally positive feedback from critics.
From 'Fringe' executive producer J.H. Wyman, the hour-long series follows a world where mysterious wreckage has fallen to Earth from outer space. An international agency, as well as other mysterious parties, try to figure out where it came from and what is behind it, as each fragment has an unpredictable effect on those who find it, changing their lives in unexpected and dangerous ways.

This could have been great. NBC, how about you keep this going for 4-5 seasons? We can make this work by by eliminating one show each year that you were going to take a chance on and cancel anyway. We can all live without another cop, fire or law show based out of Chicago.

From what I saw, I expect little debris in the wake.

Damn, it improved each episode. The plot though was very easy to understand. Parts of a alien ship did various things,. The worlds government's are collecting parts , A group called influx wanted to use parts to change all humans , and kill people to get that done. The problem is that sci Fi always have low ratings on network tv. I liked this show. Rip. Watch the expanse on amazon

Thank goodness.
Besides the time loop episode (just the 1st one even ) this show was just a mess and I agree... nobody knew what was going on or cared.
Not to mention the horrible writing. Like the episode where people were trapped inside the rain area in the barn and the debris crew can come and go with full body suits but the people in the barn were stuck. Why couldn't someone just bring them full body suits... really!!
And Tyrone Benskin (George Jones) acting was horrible. oh wait most of it was!
Glad to see this go and hope Manifest is next... From a network with such great shows like THIS IS US you would think they would be able to put on some GOOD Sci Fi shows!

Too bad. The show had potential. Maybe a streaming service will pick it up.

This was destined to be cancelled. When you do an entire 13 episode season and your viewers still have no clue what the show is about ... you failed to deliver. They tried so hard to keep the mystery of the show that the failed to even give a tiny morsel of a clue to keep the viewer interested. Swing and a Miss. Next !!

I agree--this show could have turned into something great. SO SICK OF THIS but yet I continue to watch the pilots of new shows.

Screw you NBC. If you're gonna start a series with an overarching mythology, give it more than 13 episodes. This is why so many people don't even bother starting new shows unless it has multiple seasons under its belt.

No :( This was one of the few sci-fi shows on TV that could have developed into something great over 4-5 seasons.
