No Season 2 for the superhero drama.
June 2, 2021
It is being reported that Jupiter's Legacy has been cancelled after just one season, with Netflix releasing the cast of their commitments to the series. The news comes less than a month after the drama released its eight-episode run, which ultimately garnered mixed reviews from critics.
The series takes place in a world where a superhero team comprised of the first generation of heroes have kept the world safe for almost a century. As they hand the reins to their children, tensions are rising and the old rules no longer apply. Now it's up to the younger generation to continue their elders' legendary ideals.
While Jupiter's Legacy may be over, the streaming service looks to be staying in business with creator Mark Millar by expanding the same universe in the form of a new series based on his 'Supercrooks' comic. The new live-action series is still in the planning stages, but will act as a new installment in the saga.

There's no point in starting a series on Netflix until it's finished because he spent all that time watching an amazing show just to be canceled after the first season

@khelben I just don’t want to invest in a single season anymore and the hope is that by the end of season 2 many of the storylines might be cleared up. There really was five or sox open ended threads by the end of Jupiter legacy’s season 1. Really the smart move is to have only one small open thread by the end of a season. When the Irregulars got cancelled, it was far less irritating because they wrapped up all the open ends really. Anyway, I’d rather watch two seasons and see the plot develop more than one season that goes nowhere and really explains nothing other than opening up a bunch of threads to be resolved.

This is sad, SUPER SAD! I thought this show was a fresh take at super heroes and how they deal with real decisions. I am absolutely floored this show was cancelled so soon as I heard it was one of Netflix's highest watched shows for a while. RIP JL!

And then what? If season 1 ends with a cliffhanger, so would season 2, most likely, but a season 2 doesn't guarantee a season 3.

I did some quick research and Netflix had cancelled over fifty of its original shows since 2013 after their first season. Was Jupiter Legacy on par with something like The Boys, definitely not. But I still enjoyed it a lot and well, it confirmed my last attempt to watch a season 1 given of those fifty shows I’ve watched at least 20 or more of them. Shadow and Bone is in my queue for season 1 presently. I’ll be removing it until a season 2 has been made. What I am weary most of is the cliffhangers at the end of season 1 in all these shows. Why not just make a season 1 with no cliffhanger so people can not be left in the wind again and again? Regardless, I’m truly over the cancellations on Netflix and definitely have made my mind up to hold off on any season 1’s for new shows until season 2’s have been made.

I'm just getting tired of superhero shows and movies. Since the mith 00's, it's all everyone ever think about.
No wonder so many of them get cancelled, because the story has been done so many times the last 15 years.
