It is being reported that 100 Foot Wave has been picked up by HBO for a second season. The documentary series premiered last month and is currently four episodes into its six-episode run.
The show chronicles the 10-year odyssey of surfing pioneer Garrett McNamara, who pushed the sport to greater heights when he traveled to Nazaré, Portugal in pursuit of conquering a 100 foot wave. With help from the locals, he helped transform the small fishing village into the world's leading big-wave surfing destination.
Season 2 of 100 Foot Wave will continue to follow Garrett and his wife Nicole, as well as a new batch of surfers who want to take on the 100 foot wave.
