HBO announced today that 100 Foot Wave has been picked up for a third season. The news comes three months after the documentary series wrapped its six-episode sophomore run.
"We're thrilled the search for the legendary 100 foot wave will continue and excited to expand on the incredible universe of surfers and stories in pursuit, said Joe Lewis, Executive Producer. "So much gratitude goes to the McNamara family, the big wave community, the brilliant production team, the town of Nazaré, and our amazing partners at HBO for bringing the series to life."
The show chronicles the 10-year odyssey of surfing pioneer Garrett McNamara, who pushed the sport to greater heights when he traveled to Nazaré, Portugal in pursuit of conquering a 100 foot wave. With help from the locals, he helped transform the small fishing village into the world's leading big-wave surfing destination. Now Garrett, his wife Nicole, and their friends and fellow surfers continue to push the boundaries of their sport and the limits of their minds and bodies
