The unscripted art series will return for Season 2.

HBO announced today that Painting With John has been picked up for a second season. The news comes six months after the unscripted series wrapped its six-episode freshman run, which was well-received by critics.
John Lurie writes, directs, and stars in the part meditative tutorial, part fireside chat. Episodes feature Lurie, who co-founded musical group The Lounge Lizards, at his worktable honing his watercolor techniques and sharing his life lessons.
Look for Season 2 of Painting With John in 2022.

I tried the first episode or two and .. well.. just couldn't. I don't see the appeal. But congrats that do. I often find ANYTHING longer than 5-10 minutes where one person writes, directs, and stars to be less-than-optimal for the viewing pleasure of others. Like many things in life, having at least a second person to point out bad ideas or low spots is exceptionally beneficial.
