No Season 2 for the sitcom sequel.
August 19, 2021
Word is out that Peacock has cancelled Punky Brewster after just one season. The sad news comes six months after the sitcom released its freshman run. The move makes the show the first cancellation of a scripted comedy on the streaming service.
A sequel to the beloved 1980s sitcom of the same name, Punky Brewster follows the titular character, who as a child was a smart young girl raised by a foster dad. Now all grown up, Punky is a single mother of three working to get her life back on track when she meets a young girl in the foster system who reminds her of her younger self.

I didn't even know this show existed. Also like Ash said.... too many streaming providers out there at this point.

Not a bad show. I watched one episode. Peacocks Dr. Death was outstanding though. The true terrifying story of a cokehead Dr. Killing people.

This is shame. I love the original theme song. I wish it had stayed and been updated to something cool and fresh for this modern age and the show storyline did give some closure for the Grown Punky and her Kids I do believe.
Spoiler kinda, but her getting closure with her Mom was awesome. This was shocking as a little kid to hear back in the 80s that Mom abandoned her.

Darn, I was looking forward to season 2. I watched the original as a kid and really enjoyed the new series.

Honestly, I loved the original when growing up, but I did not know that that this new series even existed? lol

I would've watched this on NBC, but there's too many streaming options to bother with now.
