The supernatural drama will end its story in 2022.

Freeform announced today that Motherland: Fort Salem has been renewed for a third and final season. The news comes a day ahead of the drama's sophomore finale, which concludes its run tomorrow night.
Set in an alternate version of America, the series takes place at a time when witches have ended their persecution by agreeing to fight for their country. Three young women are selected for training in combat magic in order to fight on the front lines against looming terrorist threats.
Look for Season 3 of Motherland: Fort Salem in 2022.

Do you know why you went from being a top rated show to barely a blip in ratings? You started out a kick ass, supernatural show about witches in a really cool setting and story --- to a sloppy seconds Lesbian Love Fest every god damn episode. We get it, you have gay characters, stop ruining your shows by devoting WAY too much story line to it. Glad to see this is cancelled, what a dis-service to the books.

Sorry to see this one is ending next season, really gonna miss it. Stumbled on it accidently at the beginning of the first season, but was hooked right away. Very unique, and the cast and production values are just great! Glad it will end, though... there's nothing worse than.leaving a show hanging unexpectedly.

Current second season has made some sharp turns in terms of the plots set up in the previous season, but as the season ends, these are all falling in place. I respect the showrunners for cleverly subverting plot expectations while keeping the soul of the series and the characterizations intact.
Its bittersweet that they are self-concluding after 3 seasons. On the + side, they are ending at their own terms. Hopefully zero cliffhangers. Fingers crossed. On the - side, they are ending only after 3 seasons. I would loved to see this world expanded.

Have to admit this second season has been less interesting for sure and kinda blah. Probably good they wrap it up on their own terms and give it a solid ending.

I'm sad the show is ending because I love it and can't get enough. That said, I am VERY happy that the producers and the network decided to give us a final season with a final conclusion instead of leaving us hanging like happens most times. Thanks guys and girls!
