The wrestling drama will return for a second season.

Starz announced today that Heels has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes three weeks after the drama wrapped its 8-episode freshman run, which was well received by both critics and audiences.
Set in the close-knit community of Duffy, Georgia, the series follows brothers Jack and Ace Spade, who war over their late father's wrestling promotion. Jack runs the operation and writes the storylines, where somebody must portray the good guy and somebody must be their nemesis, aka the heel. But in the real world, those characters can be hard to live up to — or leave behind.
Look for Season 2 of Heels in 2022.

Glad to here that. I actually should have said that most people who aren't a wrestling fan probably wouldn't bother to check it out. I think anyone who gives it a chance would enjoy it though. I am glad you did and hope more do. I would liken the low ratings to their very niche audience though. Given Starz recent history of axing shows, I was pleasantly surprised they gave this a second chance.

Disagree with the part about needing to be a wrestling fan to enjoy this show. I liken it to Friday Night Lights... I'm no football fan but I loved that show. Same with this one. I don't watch wrestling but really like Heels.

I gotta say I am shocked. The ratings were not that good, and in order to like this show you have to be a combination of a wrestling fan, a drama TV show fan, and actually know this show existed. Not an easy market to pull in. But personally I really really enjoyed the show and was hoping that by some miracle a renewal would happen. The Plopster is very glad they are giving it another season to lock in an audience.
