Epix has announced that Chapelwaite will be coming back for a second season. The news comes three months after the horror drama wrapped its 10-episode freshman run.
Based on the short story 'Jerusalem's Lot' by Stephen King, the series is set in the 1850s, where Captain Charles Boone decides to relocate his family of three children to his ancestral home in the town of Preacher's Corners, Maine after his wife dies at sea. Once there, he learns about his ancestors' dark, sordid history and must confront it in order to put a stop to the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations. A young writer finds inspiration with Boone's arrival, and applies to be governess of the infamous Chapelwaite manor in order to write about the family. This leads her to unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.

This show exceeded all my expectations!!! I loved the ending. How do they bring it back without fucking it up? I think they should have let a great story end with a great ending.

I uh, yeah I have no idea why this was renewed. I didn't feel it was a good show. How is this renewed when epix just leaves Get Shorty out there in limbo. Blows my mind

I've,never read Jerusalem's Lot, the Stephen King novel this is based on, but I kinda thought season one pretty much covered that story. So I'm not sure if they're still following any of Stephen King's writings, or if they're going to be creating their own storyline for season 2. But I thoroughly enjoyed season 1, so I'll be anticipating whatever comes next. Great cast in this series!

With the way this show ended, I never thought this would come back. It'll be interesting to see how this 2nd season goes.
