The musical comedy will return for Season 2.
June 10, 2022
Apple TV+ announced today that Schmigadoon! has been picked up for a second season. The news comes 10 months after the musical comedy wrapped its well-received 6-episode freshman run on the streaming service.
The half-hour series parodies iconic musicals, with Season 1 following a couple who try to reinvigorate their relationship by going on a backpacking trip, only to discover a magical town where everyone is living in a studio musical from the 1940s. Not only that, but they find out that they can't leave until they find true love.
Season 2 will pick up with the couple in Schmicago, set around the world of '60s and '70s musicals. Most of the show's ensemble cast is returning, including Cecily Strong, Keegan-Michael Key, Ariana DeBose, Dove Cameron, Jaime Camil, Kristin Chenoweth, Alan Cumming, Ann Harada, Jane Krakowski, Martin Short, and Aaron Tveit. Tituss Burgess and Patrick Page will be joining the cast as well.

Just a very silly show, silly dialogue, silly acting, silly plotline. Total guilty pleasure.

I just couldn't get into this show. Ultimately it thought it was a lot more clever than it actually was. I'd much rather watch a rerun of "Brigadoon".
Huh?

Remove the song and dance numbers from season 1 and the story... the story, what there is of it, was EXCEPTIONALLY bad. As if written for 7 year olds.
Now Galahad.. that was a great show which happened to have musical numbers. This show.. not so much.
