No Season 2 for the coming-of-age comedy.

It is being reported that Gordita Chronicles has been cancelled by HBO Max after one season. Coming just over a month after the comedy released its freshman run, the move is the fastest cancellation of an original series on the streaming service since its launch.
The reason behind decision is a shift in programming strategy at HBO Max, with the outlet opting to move its focus away from live-action kids and family programming. Word is that the studio behind the show, Sony Pictures Television, will be trying to find it another home.
Set in the 1980s, the half-hour series follows 12-year-old Cucu Castelli, whose family recently immigrated from the Dominican Republic to Miami in search of the American dream. In her new surroundings, Cucu faces the challenges of being an immigrant in a strange new world with humor, bravado, and some really bad choices.

I was waiting to see if this was renewed before committing to watching. It got decent reviews so I am surprised. Oh wells.

I kind of had a feeling this was coming. It was an ok show and had its moments. But over all it dragged.
