The fantasy drama will return for a second season.
November 2, 2022
Netflix announced today that The Sandman has been renewed for Season 2. The good news comes two months after the fantasy drama wrapped its freshman run, which garnered high praise from both critics and audiences.
Based on the award-winning DC comic series, the show follows Morpheus, aka Dream, who is a powerful cosmic being who has the ability to control people's dreams. After he is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for decades, Dream escapes and journeys across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos caused during his absence.
Look for Season 2 of The Sandman in 2023.

It's too bad, this was trash compared to the comic and they ruined it, as they often do with shows they adapt to netflix to ensure it enshrines the woke agenda.
And this isn't about a gay character - fans of the comic series know it's filled with gay, by, gender-fluid, etc. characters.
it's about the bastardization of established cannon. It's about not seeing the characters we wanted to see up on the screen right out of the pages of the books. it's about needless changing genders and sexes of characters to tick boxes rather than actually having a reason to do it that makes sense. And I could go on and on. But it really has nothing to do with anyone's gender identity.

I'm Conservative and a registered Republican. The show has a gay character. Big whoop. Its not throwing Liberal agenda down your throat like Law and Order does. The show was fine. There is a difference between having gay characters and ramming lib agenda down the throat. Gay people exist. It is okay to have some representation on shows. Stop complaining every time there is a gay person on a show. All they did was make it clear the character is gay. There is no ridiculous plights for that character about how hard it is to be gay and nobody loves them and everyone who is white straight male is evil. Some shows do that. This one doesn't. If the plot isn't your cup of tea that's fine. Get over the fact that there is a gay character. The gay character is not an issue for this Conservative Republican.
Huh?

Season 1 was a mess.. and after the first 3 episodes had VERY LITTLE to actually do with "Dream".

I never read the comics or had even heard of this before but I really enjoyed it. I found it to be new and refreshing. Hoping to get a couple more seasons.

Im on the fence about this one, i hope they have more consistant story arcs in the next season. S1 seemed to have a lot of build-ups with no big payoff - im hoping thats a design for a more compelling story. Huge fan of Coleman so i hope to see her again too...

Very strange show. I liked the original sandman superhero from ,1940,this is weird sleep god stuff, from.the dc graphic novels.. but at least "american gods " ( by the same writer,?) was easier to follow.. I have not given up on it yet though.and gay stuff is not the problem..

All the fans of this show better let the showrunners know not to end season 2 with a cliffhanger. Because there is no way it gets a season 3.
