Netflix has ordered Season 2 of The Watcher. Coming less than a month after its premiere, the news follows a strong start to the drama that saw it garner over 125 million hours of viewing in its first five days. Originally billed as a limited series, the show's early success obviously compelled the streaming giant to change its plans.
Inspired by the true story of the 'Watcher' house in New Jersey, the series follows the Brannock family, who after moving into their dream suburban home begin receiving ominous letters from somebody calling themself 'The Watcher,' leading to the neighborhood's sinister secrets coming to light.
Look for Season 2 of The Watcher in late 2023 or early 2024.

I wish people would get over wanting to be spooked all the time. Its a cheap thrill is all.

This is annoying. I watched the show and enjoyed it regardless of lack of closure. But a main reason I watched it was because it was a limited series. I like a season to tell a story sometimes rather than try to cram into a two hour movie. Now it’s being extended and I feel duped. Lots of people don’t want to commit to multiple seasons of different shows. If it’s meant to be a limited series leave it there regardless of viewership.

The success surprising considering the 34% audience score on rotten tomatoes, but I liked it. Watched it all in a few days.
