No Season 3 for the adventure drama.
January 21, 2023
It is being reported that The Mosquito Coast has been cancelled by Apple TV+ after two seasons. The news comes two weeks after the adventure drama wrapped its 10-episode sophomore run.
Adapted from Paul Theroux's best-selling novel, the hour-long series stars his nephew Justin Theroux as brilliant inventor and radical idealist Allie Fox. On the run from the US government, he embarks on a dangerous journey after deciding to uproot his family for Mexico in search of a safe haven.
The show's two seasons served as a lead-in to the 1981 book. A third season would have segued into the actual content within the book, but unfortunately for viewers, the story on-screen will go unfinished.

I saw half of the pilot episode and stopped watching. I can't articulate the exact reasons after all this while except that I did not get "enjoyable" vibes from the show. I am personally surprised it got a Season 2, but hey, to those who enjoyed it, good for you.

This website is full of people angry that a show didn't get a proper ending ignoring the fact that the show aired and they go to enjoy it while it did. I enjoyed it while it was on, now I'll find something else to watch.

There was even a chance of a Season 3?
He fucking dies at the end, and the rest of the family is seen living their best life on the island he bargained for... why would there be a season 3?

I enjoyed both seasons. But it did wrap up.there was no cliffhanger ending. So I'm good with it

Once again left hanging with no finish. I thought maybe this sort of thing would happen less on the streaming services than on Network TV, but nope. Still a crapshoot as to whether or not you're gonna invest all kinds of time to follow a show, only to have it pulled without an ending. Honestly, I guess all a guy can do is wait until a series has run its course, and then watch from the beginning once you hear if it had an actual ending or not...
