Word is out that The Mysterious Benedict Society has been cancelled by Disney+ after two seasons. Co-creator Phil Hay took to Twitter this morning with the news, which comes less than two months after the drama wrapped its eight-episode sophomore run.

Based on the young adult book series by Trenton Lee Stewart, the series follows four orphans who each possess a unique skill. Because of their collective ability to see the truth, they are summoned to a boarding school by its eccentric benefactor who believes they can help stop a sinister plot that could have global consequences.

Dear friends- season 2 will mark the end of THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY’s journey on Disney+. We love everyone who helped make this truly special and indeed life-affirming experience happen. No regrets- so proud of what we made! (1/3 )
