The murder mystery series will return for Season 2.

Peacock announced today that Poker Face has been renewed for a second season. Coming three weeks into its run, the early pickup is no surprise as the drama has been garnering high praise from both critics and viewers.
"Poker Face is one of those rare, undeniable shows that we all fell in love with from the start, but the critical acclaim and viewer response has been beyond our wildest dreams," said Susan Rovner, Chairman, Entertainment Content, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. "Working alongside the creative genius of Rian Johnson, Natasha Lyonne and Ram Bergman, along with our partners at MRC and T-Street, has been a spectacular ride, and we can't wait to hit the road for another season as we continue to build momentum across Peacock's originals slate."
Structured as a murder-of-the-week mystery, the series stars Natasha Lyonne as Charlie Cale, a woman who has the extraordinary ability to tell when somebody is lying. On the run from a casino boss, she hits the road and travels across the country in her '69 Plymouth Barracuda, with each stop leading to an encounter with a new cast of characters and strange crimes she is compelled to solve.
The show is currently six episodes into its 10-episode freshman run, with new episodes releasing every Thursday leading up to the season finale on March 9. Season 2 will likely premiere in early 2024.

"Poker Face" is a modern, slightly more clever version of "Murder, She Wrote". Every town she visits someone is going to get murdered. It started out so good and promising but totally jumps the shark by episode 5. It already feels tired and predictable, should end with season 2.
Huh?

The older Lyonne gets the more she sounds like Jackie Mason --- really off-putting overall. This started interesting.. but after 4 episodes it's just another bad remake of "Murder She Wrote." The original plot line has all but vanished.

I watched all 7 available episodes. I do like it but I find it unrealistic that she would keep going from place to place and finding murders THAT often. Its not like she works in Homicide. She is a drifter who just happens to find new murders everywhere she goes. Not only that but she ends up befriending either the victim or the murderer prior to the murder happening. What are the odds this would happen to someone even once, let alone every week. But otherwise I do enjoy it when I ignore that plot hole.

The series has its kinks that need to be ironed out, but the fact that she is not 100% perfect or lovable kinds of makes it refreshing. The premise is weird and interesting, the guests are very good (Ellen Barking at 68, Judith Light at 74, Epatha Merkerson at 70) and it all has a healthy degree of weirdness and quirkiness. I'm all for a different show.

It started off with a bang, no doubt. Its a unique series and I can see why people like it. But the last 2 episodes (the retirement home and the stage show) were kinda unbelievable even within the show's world. As much as I like the premise of the series, and as much as I am a fan of Leone, I find her character to be irritating and unbelievable. No one acts or talks like that realistically. I think I am gonna finish season 1 and that will be all for me.
P.S. : The premise of the series - that is, the audience knows who the murderer is but the protagonist doesn't - is nothing new. The series Motive does the same thing and it ran for 4 seasons, iirc. At least the investigator there doesn't get up in people's faces about their crimes without any witnesses present, like this one does every episode.

I doubt they'll be any more Russian Doll while she's doing this but you can enjoy her as a stoner in Antibirth.

Does this mean there won't be any more "Russian Doll" seasons ?

Was considering checking it out. The early renewal makes it official.

But she's solving them though, isn't she? She can't be that stupid. You try solving a bunch of murders. I hardly solve any myself.

That is surprising… The main character is so unlikable and stupid, it's insane she's trying to solve mysteries.
