No Season 2 for the Western origin story.
May 9, 2023
It is being reported that Walker: Independence has been cancelled by The CW after one season. The news comes two months after the drama wrapped its freshman run and on the same day as 'Walker' was picked up for Season 4.
Serving as an origin story to 'Walker,' the series is set in the late 1800s and follows affluent Bostonian Abby Walker, whose husband is murdered in front of her while on their journey out West. After crossing paths with a lovable rogue name Hoyt, the two arrive in the frontier town of Independence, Texas seeking justice for her husband. Precariously aligned, Abby and Hoyt work to uncover the truth about the identity of Abby's husband's killer and vow to save Independence, where nothing is what it seems.

I missed many eps when it was airing on TV, I now own the DVD for Season 1 & throughly enjoyed it. I am very saddened to not have the END OF THE STORY. Any chance for a TV movie to tie up the story??

Absolutely love Walker Independence. So happy to a amazing western series on TV. Hopefully another network will see that it is worthy of a second season.
"Independence.""No truer destination in the American West."

I watched 5 or 6 episode. It started pretty good.. then it fell into the standard ...
"Lets pad episodes so we can make this 10 episode season actually have 22 episodes."
So 5 minutes at the start and end of the episodes were interesting.. the 30 minutes in between were unrelated filler. I gave up when it was CLEAR this was the plan. Same thing all network shows do.
So sick of the "formula" network tv uses.

As usual CW trashes a really good show. After this cancelation I won't watch the CW. Fingers crossed that the producers who are actively shopping the show to another station find one soon!

I really liked this series. It's to bad there won't be a second season. They just left us hanging and now we won't know the outcome.

This sucks. I really enjoyed this show cant even get into the walker one it's crap. I hate when this happens. The cw cancels all the good stuff and then wonders why they have no viewers.

unfortunately, any show with Matt Barr never makes it past 13 episodes.

How about a 3 part season 2 to wrap up the story. Make it a 3 night event. Something to satisfy the viewers you want to come back for the new shows rolling out. Great shows like The Americans, Queen Of The South, Homeland, etcetera get seasons to wrap up stories. Would you buy 1/2 a book with no guarantee they would print the rest? No.
