No Season 2 for the Western origin story.
May 9, 2023
It is being reported that Walker: Independence has been cancelled by The CW after one season. The news comes two months after the drama wrapped its freshman run and on the same day as 'Walker' was picked up for Season 4.
Serving as an origin story to 'Walker,' the series is set in the late 1800s and follows affluent Bostonian Abby Walker, whose husband is murdered in front of her while on their journey out West. After crossing paths with a lovable rogue name Hoyt, the two arrive in the frontier town of Independence, Texas seeking justice for her husband. Precariously aligned, Abby and Hoyt work to uncover the truth about the identity of Abby's husband's killer and vow to save Independence, where nothing is what it seems.

A far superior show than Walker. Great characters. Fun episodes. I knew it was doomed.

Once again no loss, can't believe the original is still going.

What a shame, we really enjoyed this show. It kept taking interesting turns and had really good characters that continued to be well developed. Bad decision to cancel

I only watched an episode or two. Something told me it wouldn't last.

Marvelous show filled with great characters and story lines. CW has screwed it's viewing audience in exchange for talk and golf. They will be bankrupt within two years unless they listen to their viewers.

Really disappointed by this. Preferred it to Walker itself.

Of course...the good shows get canceled, while the crappy "reality" shows hang around. Horrible decision, CW.

Disappointed. I loved the backstory of Independence and getting to know the family members mentioned in Walker. Hate to see it end.
