Apple TV+ announced today that Physical will be coming to an end after its upcoming 10-episode third season. The news coincides with the streaming service setting an August premiere date for the now-final season.
"We are so grateful to Apple, Tomorrow Studios, and all our creative collaborators for the chance to bring Sheila to life in all her gritty glory," said star and executive producer Rose Byrne and creator, writer and executive producer Annie Weisman. "With this final season, Sheila's three act saga of rebellion, recovery, and redemption comes to the satisfying conclusion that she and her fans so richly deserve. We feel so proud to share this last chapter with everyone."
The half-hour series stars Byrne as Sheila Rubin, a seemingly dutiful, but quietly-tortured housewife in 1980s San Diego who is supporting her controversial husband's bid for state assembly. Behind the scenes, she is battling her own personal demons relating to her self-image - but finds release when she discovers the world of aerobics, turning her newfound passion into her road to empowerment.
Season 3 of Physical premieres on Wednesday, August 2.

This series was a total misfire from the beginning. I couldn't believe this was the best Rose Bryne could come up with when given creative control.

Season 1 was interesting, not great but a bit compelling.. season 2 sucked. Not holding out much hoe for the quality of season 3.
