TBS Revives 'The Joe Schmo Show'

The reality hoax series is coming back to cable.

TBS is bringing back The Joe Schmo Show. The network announced that a reimagined version of the reality hoax series has been ordered for a premiere in 2024.

The show first debuted back in 2003 on Spike, airing for two seasons before being shelved until 2013 when it was brought back for Season 3. Nearly 10 years after that, the show is coming back again with a new iteration on a new network and a new host.

"When The Joe Schmo Show launched 20 years ago, it was ahead of its time," said Jason Sarlanis, President, Turner Networks, ID, and HLN, linear & streaming. "In rebooting this classic for a modern, savvy audience, it gives us the opportunity to comment on the often absurd and hilarious tropes of reality television in ways our viewers will love."

The new The Joe Schmo Show will be hosted by Cat Deeley. Its 'show within a show' format makes an unsuspecting person believe they are a contestant on a reality TV show, when in fact, they are surrounded by a cast of actors.

Very happy to hear it is coming back, I don't think I ever saw the 3rd season and I don't think I knew there was a 3rd season, hopefully i can find season 3 somewhere to watch, saw the first 2 and season 1 was the best, can't wait to see season 4!

This was the only reality show I've ever really watched. S3 was a bit of a disappointment but S1 was amazing and full of to-be-stars. S2 was very-good-but-not-great and still had some great turns.

Let's see what S4 brings!

Didn't know there was more than one season of this. They'll ruin it like tbs ruins everything else

After Jury Duty being such a success, this felt inevitable. I’m still excited though. I enjoyed the original show.

This show was only sort of funny the 1st time, every time after that was lame, this one looks even more lame than 2 and 3 combined. Pass
