ABC is currently developing a reboot of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition that will bring the series back to the network after a 12-year absence. The show first debuted in 2003, airing nine seasons through to 2012. HGTV attempted a revival in 2020 but it lasted just one season.
The show's official Twitter account posted a casting announcement yesterday looking for interior designers, architects, contractors and carpenters to join expert home organizers Clea and Joanna from 'The Home Edit,' who will be taking center stage for the new season.
Episodes of the new Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will introduce Clea and Joanna to a family that has been through a recent hardship and is in need of a major home renovation. The design team will then go to work to makeover the family's home, transforming it to meet their needs. The 'Home Edit' duo will work with the family to edit the items they own, helping them decide what to keep and what to throw away, setting them up with smart systems built for success.
