Netflix announced today that Sex Education is coming to an end with its upcoming fourth season. The dramedy's now-final run has been a long time coming, as it has been nearly two years since the streaming service issued the Season 4 renewal.
"We are incredibly proud of Sex Education and feel indebted to our brilliant writers, cast and crew who put so much heart into making every episode," said creator and executive producer Laurie Nunn in a statement to fans. "They have worked tirelessly to bring you the final series, and we can't wait to share it with you."
The series stars Asa Butterfield as Otis Thompson, an inexperienced high school kid who channels his sex therapist mother, played by Gillian Anderson, when he teams up with a smart and rebellious classmate to start an underground sex therapy clinic at their school.
Season 4 of Sex Education will premiere on Thursday, September 21.

LOVE THIS SHOW, but I'm glad it will be ending. With many cast members on the way out I think its time to wrap things up nicely.

Since most of the actors/actress are leaving after s4 i'm fine with this as long as it doesn't end on cliff hanger. Great show for sure going to miss it.

This is the comedy jewel in the Netflix crown. I hope it ends proper and not with a cliffhanger. Great show!

Hopefully this is a creator choice and not a Netflix choice, because if this is another cancellation by the company, I don’t get it. I don’t even watch this show, but it’s one of the few shows on Netflix that gets actual mainstream buzz.
