Netflix announced today that Sex Education has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just weeks following the dramedy's freshman release, which since January 11 has been watched by over 40 million households.

The series stars Asa Butterfield as Otis Thompson, an inexperienced high school kid who channels his sex therapist mother, played by Gillian Anderson, when he teams up with a smart and rebellious classmate to start an underground sex therapy clinic at their school.

The streaming service has ordered another eight episodes for Season 2 of Sex Education, with production slated to start this spring in the UK. No time frame has been set for a return, but a likely time frame would be late this year or early 2020.
