The upcoming spin-off scores an early pickup.

AMC announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for a second season. The pickup is an early one, coming nearly two months before the spin-off series premieres.
"This next chapter in the Walking Dead Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for Dead City and highly anticipated new journey for fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon coming in September," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. "And, ahead of its debut, we're thrilled to double down on Daryl as we bring the apocalypse to France, transforming Notre Dame, Pont du Gard and other iconic locales into an apocalyptic landscape unlike anything we've seen before."
The series follows Daryl after he washes up on the shores of France with no memory of how he got there, leading him to journey across the broken but resilient country hoping to find a way back home. During his travels, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his plan.

Wow, like Angel said, don’t watch it if you are not a die hard fan. I have seen every episode, every spin off. This was great, again my only complaint would be the amount of episodes, should be more. 6 for an entire season is not enough. Complaining about subtitles when it is based in France???

Oh, and slow the plot down. It's way too fast.
I really loved the scene when Daryl is torturing the FRENCH guy and telling him a story about how his childhood friend had to kill a pet pig for Christmas dinner.... in ENGLISH...

Wow. Thats all I can say. Unless they start actually writing a good script it's gonna be shit. Maybe write one about finding a cure or at least some kind of medicine that'll make it more interesting rather than human on human fighting crap.

ooohhh talk about milking it, dead city sucks same old same old, how does a series not shown get another series??? yet they cancel so many great shows, this whole genre of zombies has been done to death move on...

ermm.... Rosita never died. How much of a "true fan" can you be? She was bit in her last scene.. but not dead.
And Dead City sucked... they just wanted to show zip lining, that's all. The story was EXACTLY the same as all TWD over the past 6 seasons. Nothing new. The Crowad is laughable... and taking a toe from Hershel.. so what??? Marshalls after the world has fallen??? Seriously??? "Hi Mashal" BAM Shot in the head.. no more Marshall. Problem solved. I mean the writing is just pathetic.
I'll tune in and hate-watch the Daryll and Carol show.. but honestly my expectations could not be any lower. The writing for this entire "universe" has been at a high school drama level for many years now.

If ur not a die hard fan if TWD since day one then why run ir mouths? I loved dead city and am excited for Daryl Dixon. All of us true fans welcome it! I will never get enuf of twd universe!!!

One can only hope that after the misfire of "Dead City" the showrunners on this series won't make the same mistakes.
With Dixon in Europe perhaps we can finally get to the bottom of who released the zombie virus in the first place. I would love to see what contrived excuse the custodians of this universe come up with.

Looks like a mess. The landscapes and structures look great. And i was curious to see the lazze faire approach to the end times. Some of the reduction to old weapons looks silly, but then it is an old world and those things are lying around.
But then it looks like we've seen this. Transport youngster from point A to B. The evil villain who will hunt you is well established and ready to go. Oh, and france being the cradle of civilization has a messianic child who will reboot europe. Go team nuns and templars.

I’ll watch it. Dead City has been good, so I’m willing to give it a shot.
