The spinoff series earns an early pickup for 2025.

AMC announced today at Comic-Con International that The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has been renewed for a third season in 2025. The pickup is an early one, coming two months before the spinoff series returns for its sophomore run. Production of Season 3 is slated to begin next month and be based in Madrid, Spain.
"We are so proud of these shows and incredibly grateful for the way this new chapter in The Walking Dead Universe has been embraced by the fans," said Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks. "Sending Daryl, and then Carol, to France was such an inspired and visually striking move for this franchise, a chance to do something truly different. We can't wait to continue the travels of this iconic duo with a third season produced and set in Spain, another beautiful country with a passionate TWD fanbase that is already buzzing with anticipation."
"I couldn't be more thrilled to announce a third season and to be working side by side with the brilliant Melissa McBride," said star Norman Reedus. "Season two is some of my favorite storytelling of this series. Watching Melissa shine along with our brilliant cast and crew has been one of my fondest memories playing this character. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it and we can't wait to keep the story going."
The series follows Daryl after he washes up on the shores of France with no memory of how he got there, leading him to journey across the broken but resilient country hoping to find a way back home. During his travels, though, the connections he forms along the way complicate his plan.

YES. TWD universe should have never become a universe. An ending with Negan's death would have been perfect. Period.

Easily the best of the Walking Dead spin-offs. The writing and acting kept it from ever getting dull. With this series set in France where the epidemic appeared to originate, there's also the chance we'll get to finally see what caused it all.

I watched all the seasons up to that Eugene Porter character and then I stopped. I couldn't watch anymore episodes after that monstrosity of an actor. I know a lot will disagree with me, but I know a lot of you all know what I mean.

Season one was Great.
It was a fresh continuation of the franchise.
Loved how they ended the season with the appearance of Carol.
This show has lots of possibilities. Happy to have 2 more seasons!

The show isn't really very suspenseful. Daryl and Carol, armed only with paring knives, could be surrounded by 20,000 walkers and they'll escape just fine

Hard to argue with the ratings. The ride or die fans are still there.
Hopefully season 2 and 3 will be differently paced with Carol in the picture.

Season one sucked.. It as just the same old same old, but subtitled with French Nazis... the last episode, where Carol appeared was good, but that was it....

Enough of The Walking Dead universe. This franchise should be put to rest. It was great in the beginning and terrible at the end. We don't need the spinoffs. I thought the first season was terrible.
