It is being reported that Disney Channel has decided to end Bunk'd after its current seventh season. After a production delay due to the writers strike, a final batch of 10 episodes will air later this year to conclude the veteran kids series after a total of 161 episodes.
"With a fantastic cast of characters and hilarious and heartful storylines, it's no wonder Bunk'd has been one of Disney Channel's longest-running and successful live-action series," said Ayo Davis, President, Disney Branded Television, in a statement to Deadline. "We'd like to thank our talented cast, creative team and crew for bringing tremendous joy and laughter to kids for seven incredible seasons."
Bunk'd began as a spin-off of 'Jessie,' with the Ross kids from that series leaving their swanky New York digs to attend summer camp in Maine. But at the end of Season 3, the three top-line cast members departed, and the show ushered in some new campers to continue their adventures at Camp Kikiwaka and beyond. The show has had an impressively long run, faring even better than the series it was spun off from.
