Apple TV+ announced today that Invasion has been picked up for a third season. The news comes four months after the sci-fi drama wrapped its 10-episode sophomore run on the streaming service.
"I'm so proud of what we've been able to do with our first two seasons of the show with our partners at Apple TV+ and our cast and crew," said creator and executive producer Simon Kinberg. "This new season will continue to build on the scale, stakes, and propulsion of the 'Invasion,' while keeping our characters front and center, bringing them together in ways that will hopefully surprise and most importantly move our audience, who have been so incredibly supportive and inspiring since day one."
The series follows what happens when Earth is visited by an unknown alien species that threatens humanity's existence, showing people from different continents struggling to make sense of the chaos unfolding around them. The show has garnered decidedly mixed reviews overall, though Season 2 was better received than Season 1.

The second season was definitely a lot better than the first. First season seemed rather artsy fartsy at times, disjointed, hard to follow. Second season brought the plot lines together better. I don't really care for how the military is portrayed at times, as rather bungling or as bad guys. If I were Apple, I'd wrap up the story in a third season and let it go.

All they would have to do is come walking across the southern border seeking asylum. They'd be welcomed in with free medical, housing, credit cards, and education... oh, and free from persecution when they start attacking.

Nice! I'm really enjoying this show, I just hope the showrunners have a complete story arc in mind and have a chance to complete the story before the show is eventually cancelled.
