The spy thriller will return for a second season.

Paramount+ announced today that Lioness has been renewed for Season 2. The news comes eight months after the espionage thriller wrapped its 8-episode freshman run. Originally titled 'Special Ops: Lioness,' the show debuted last summer and set a new record as the streamer's most-watched worldwide series premiere on launch day with nearly six million total viewers in its first week across Paramount+ globally and a linear preview on the Paramount Network.
"Our Paramount+ audience resoundingly has joined forces in support of Lioness' gripping, global story and the powerhouse performances from Zoe Saldaña, Laysla De Oliveira and Nicole Kidman," said Jeff Grossman, Executive Vice President, Programming, Paramount+. "We cannot wait to see more of the heart-stopping suspense and action that Taylor Sheridan and the incredibly talented team deliver in its second season."
The series follows Joe, a young Marine who is trying to balance her personal life with her professional life as the tip of the CIA's spear in the war on terror. The Lioness Program enlists an aggressive Marine Raider named Cruz to operate undercover alongside Joe among the power brokers of State terrorism in the agency's efforts to bring down the organization from within before the next 9/11 can occur.

Excellent, I can watch the first season now... I wasn't in a rush for it, so was ok to keep it in reserve in case it got picked up for a second season as this cast is pretty spot on...

While I admit this show is not Taylor's best, the 2 female leads are great. Also the supporting actors on the military team seem to have more than one note to them. I would enjoy a little more from them going forward. P.S. Zoe Saldana is awesome in just about everything including her phone commercial.

I really liked this show. I didn't realize it was even being considered for a Season 2. I can't imagine how hard it must be to get a network to OK a series, and then renew a series. On other shows, some series are renewed prior to the present series completing. While the unfortunate other shows are cancelled prior to airing the entire season. Eight months later just seems like a long time to keep an production hanging as folks generally need to keep working and to plan and continue with their lives. I suppose we'll see in another year how S2 looks & performs.

Love this show. I would love to see what happens to both Joe and Cruz characters. So happy this show was picked up for another season.

I wanted to like this show but could not get into it at all. The dialog was awful and the situations seemed so unbelievable. I was out after two episodes.

Why. I'd rather they spend the money on Seal Team
