The late-night comedy series will return for Season 2.
June 11, 2024
CBS announced today that After Midnight, hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, has been renewed for a second season. The news comes five months into the late-night comedy panel show's freshman run.
"Taylor is a gifted comedian who brings a unique voice, energy and plenty of rizz to late night (I learned rizz is a real word thanks to the show,)" said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. "We're excited for more of her daily smart takes about the dumbest things on the internet."
Inspired by Comedy Central's Emmy Award-winning series "@midnight," the late-night comedy series features a panel of guests from the worlds of entertainment, comedy, music and beyond. Episodes center around what set the Internet abuzz that day, with a game show feel.
Look for Season 2 of After Midnight during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

They did, and the show is well worth watching now. Not sure the date they retooled it, but they all start with a Taylor Tomlinson monologue instead of each comedian doing something random as an opener. It appears more natural and less scripted. It also appears that CBS has given Taylor more control to drive the funny as she sees fit.
I know there's not a lot of competition for its timeslot, but even then I figured it'd be a goner.
Taylor Tomlinson is funny. Her stand up specials are great. This show is just scripted comments to social media posts.
I'll continue to watch her stand up, but I can't watch this show.
