The sci-fi drama will not return for Season 3.
July 3, 2024
It is being reported that Outer Range has been cancelled by Prime Video after two seasons. The news comes less than two months after the sci-fi Western released its 7-episode sophomore run, which, unfortunately for viewers, did not wrap up the story and left more than a few unanswered questions.
The hour-long series follows the Abbotts, who are having a tough time dealing with not only the disappearance of their daughter-in-law, but the owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch making a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of events, including the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts' west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as patriarch Royal fights to protect his family.

Why is it that any shows where you have to pay attention, or make you have to think, don't last. Oh, wait this is 2024 and many don't want to think. It would be nice if one of the other Steaming Services were to pick it up.

Such multi-dimensional time jumping shows don't last long.

I was so intrigued with that movie, both seasons
S1/S2 had me on the edge of my seat, bitting my nails thru it all. I'm disappointed there will be no conclusion with a S3 of Outer Range...it'll just be a "figment of one's imagination" of what it could have been.

Jesus J Christ, this show as BORING AF! I WANTED to like it. I watched BOTH seasons hoping for more action. This past season pretty much completely ignored the time traveling hole. They have a FKING TIME TRAVELING HOLE on their property and everyones pretty much acting like its nothing more than a regular, random dith someone dug. The writers HAD to know that if they delivered another boring season that they were going to get canceled so why not go ALL out? Why not progress the show to where Royal pops out of the hole and everyone's waiting for him. the part they showed in season one where he sees all of those people there then jumps back into the hole and goes back to regular time. It would have been interesting to see things from the perspective of all of the other people and how things progressed to that point. But nooooooo. Instead the writers give us another season that was a heaping pile of CRAP! Smh These writers these days are taking it way too far with these "slow burn" type of shows. If you're going to do a "slow burn" type of show there had better be something interesting sprinkled in there at decent intervals to keep viewers interested because otherwise FK that show.
