No Season 2 for the new Star Wars series.
August 19, 2024
It is being reported by Deadline that The Acolyte has been cancelled by Disney+ after just one season. The news comes a month after the Star Wars series wrapped its 8-episode freshman run.
The move does not come as a complete surprise, as the show's high production costs would need a sizeable audience to justify a renewal. And while its premiere did draw the platform's largest viewership for a new series this year, its early success was short-lived, and the full season numbers were estimated to be low compared to other shows in the Star Wars universe.
The Acolyte is set during the final days of the High Republic era, about 100 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I. In the show, a former Padawan reunites with her Jedi Master to investigate a series of crimes. But in a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers, the forces they confront are more sinister than they ever anticipated.

It actually was not terrible. However kathleen kennedy , a woman who hates sci fi cannot grasp that they needed male leads but she is like a pestilence obssesed with only female leads. Not even both male and female. It was ber agenda. You know she hated sci fi her whole life too. She is what the diseased colleges produce , piss poor creators that destroy franchises to get their agendas accross

That’s a shame. I know a lot of people didn’t like this show but I actually got quite into it. I liked that it felt very different from other Star Wars films and shows due to when it was set. It wasn’t perfect but it had some great moments including some of the best lightsaber fights in Star Wars in my opinion.

I'm not shocked... I think people are getting a little Star Wars fatigue. I passed on this one myself..
